Hello, friends of IOP,

Wow! It’s been a busy few months for the amazing team at Izulu Orphan Projects.

We hosted several dynamic company groups for Madiba Day 2014, continue to build our much-needed crisis centre, installed computers and learning equipment in the Rotary Learning Centre, and our feeding programme continues to nourish young children from throughout our area.

Looking forward - We have the date of our first official IOP Sponsored Golf Day. Please join us on Saturday, 24 September at the Empangeni Country Club, where we will be hosting businesses on greens and t-boxes as they cheer on local golfers. We don’t want to give too much away, but it looks like there are going to be fantastic prizes!

We are starting to collect toys, food and funds for our annual Orphans Christmas Party, which will take place on Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 December this year. As always, we need massive support to pull this off, so please contact our offices if you can assist in any way.

Funds are scarce at the moment, and the timing couldn’t be better for us to implement our easy debit order authorisation system, which is now fully operational. Please urgently contact Laurie on 078 222 3858 if you would like to complete an instruction form allowing a monthly debit of as little as R50 to support our programme. Without your compassion and support, we are unable to continue with the daily operations that support over 700 families in need.

Here’s a small insight into what we have been getting up to lately – enjoy!

God Bless!

Kate

The Hastings Boys High School rugby team from New Zealand painted our Ngqamuzane Crisis Centre. It’s now looking super. If anyone is able to assist with funds or furnishings for the building – which will be a place of safety for victims of abuse, violence or abandonment – please contact Laurie on 078 222 3858.

The dynamic team from Nashua Zululand treated our orphans to a party and cake, after which they handed out toys to the delighted youngsters.

power-sparLunch is served!

The Power Spar team arrived bright and early on Madiba Day to deliver over 120 lunch packs, which were used to feed and hydrate the rural soccer players taking part in our Woza Soccer coaching clinic. We are continually humbled by their support.
