Good Day, friends of IOP
So many great things have been happening at IOP over the past several weeks.

  • Water, water! Distributed fifty water carriers to our most impoverished families thanks to Round Table Empangeni 61 and their friends, and bought a much-needed vehicle-mounted water pump thanks to kind donors who heeded our call for assistance.
  • Learning Centre: The Rotary International Learning Centre at our Nqgamuzane Support Centre is coming to life, and our first computer course took place last week.
  • Building: Thanks to blessings from the Lindsay-Rae family and Bess Graham World Ministries, we completed the construction of two new homes for families who had been living in inhumane conditions. There was much celebration as they enjoy sleeping under a safe roof.

Drum roll pleasel……. It’s Christmas party time!

It’s only six weeks until our Annual Orphan Christmas party. Calling everyone of all ages to come and be a part of this life-changing day!

Please watch the video below from last year.

Rather than hosting the party over two days, we are streamlining the programme in order to turn it into a one-day event on Saturday 13th December only. We need as many volunteers as possible as we are running two parties at two venues, concurrently.  All ages are welcome, there are many tasks from data capturing, present sorting and face painting, to being a ‘bouncer’ or a hot dog maker.
We need all the help we can get, as our programmes for 2015 rely on this event being successful.

These are our top priorities

  • Food for the day: We need to provide 5 000 rolls, 5 000 sausages and 2 500 juice boxes.
  • Party packs: 2 000 party packs filled with sweets, chips, buscuits and suckers.
  • Gifts for giving: We have 500 teenage boys and 500 teenage girls to provide gifts for. Also, we love to bless our Gogos and carers. There are 600 expected at the event.
  • Transport: Rented buses last year saw us transport our community members to the two support centres. This year we need to hire nineteen, at a cost of R41 400.00.
  • Sanitation: Portable toilet hire, at a cost of R3 050.00
  • Stationary: Stationary packs and school bags for 1200 orphans for 2015 school year. The festive season fundraising drive supports our most desperate orphans financially as they register and prepare for the 2015 school year.

God Bless!

We would like to thank you in advance for considering being a part of this event, which blesses the poorest of the poor each year, and remains a highlight on the Zululand calendar each festive season. With this festive season fundraising drive we will  purchase uniforms for over 500 of our most desperate orphans to enable them to attend school in 2015.
